Make a Piece More Personal
Personalised jewellery is ideal for gifts, weddings, anniversaries, memorial pieces, family jewellery and everyday items that you want to make individual. Depending on the item, we can add names, initials, dates, messages, symbols, birthstones and other personal details.
Some personalisation is carried out on a ready-made item; other requests require a made-to-order variation or CAD design. We will tell you which route is suitable before confirming the work.
Engraving
Gold Factory offers a wide range of engraving services. Names, initials, dates and messages are common, but we can discuss other engraving styles and content where the jewellery and available surface make them technically suitable.
Engraving is not a same-day service. Turnaround depends on the jewellery, the engraving method, the amount of text and any other work being carried out at the same time.
Birthstones and Gemstones
Birthstones can be incorporated into suitable designs to mark a birthday, child, family member or important date. We can also discuss precious and semi-precious stones and astrology stones where requested.
Stone suitability depends on the design and how the jewellery will be worn. Some stones are more vulnerable to knocks, heat, chemicals or everyday wear than diamonds and sapphires, so practical advice matters as much as appearance.

Made-to-Order Personalisation
Where your request changes the dimensions, weight, stone layout or structure of the jewellery, it may become a made-to-order or bespoke job rather than a simple personalisation service. In that case, a deposit, CAD approval and manufacturing lead time may apply.
Made-to-order pieces can have an approximate ±5% manufacturing weight tolerance, with the final chargeable price adjusted according to the finished weight.
Returns and Changes
Please check spellings, dates, initials, sizes and the agreed design carefully before approving personalised work. Once an item has been engraved, altered or made specifically for you, ordinary change-of-mind return rights may be restricted in accordance with the applicable law and our Terms & Conditions.
This does not affect rights relating to goods that are faulty, misdescribed or not produced in accordance with the agreed specification.

Can I add a birthstone?
Often, yes. This depends on the jewellery design and setting options.
Can personalised items be returned?
Items made or altered specifically for you can have different change-of-mind return rights. The exact position depends on the item and the applicable Terms & Conditions, while statutory rights for faults remain unaffected.
Can you engrave something other than text?
Potentially, yes. We offer many types of engraving and will confirm what is technically possible for the item.
Do you engrave names and dates?
Yes. We offer a broad engraving service, subject to the jewellery being suitable.
Do you offer same-day engraving?
No. We do not offer same-day engraving.
What is the difference between personalised and bespoke jewellery?
Personalised jewellery usually adapts an existing or standard design. Bespoke jewellery is developed around a new design from the outset.
