How Is Scrap Gold Valued?

Three things decide it: the purity of the metal, the weight of the gold, and the buying rate on the day.

The piece is tested to establish the carat, weighed on scales you can see, and any non gold parts are separated out. The clean gold weight is then multiplied by our buying rate for that carat.
