Yellow Gold vs White Gold vs Rose Gold

All three can be the same purity. The colour comes from what the gold is mixed with: copper gives rose, silver and palladium give white, and the traditional mix gives yellow.

White gold is usually plated with rhodium for a bright finish. As that wears, a warmer tone shows through, which is normal and can be replated.

Because colour comes from the alloy, an 18ct rose ring and an 18ct yellow ring of the same weight hold the same amount of gold.
